The DJ & Producer duo Luke & Mark of Tactical Recordings were Audio Venom’s very first headliners. Blessed were the small town ravers of High Wycombe when Venom took their night up a notch and got these guys in to shake the house down. Their blend of techy yet funky Drum n Bass was a massive hit and complemented the form that Venom had been building their night on. The benchmark had been set.
Hybrid Minds were eye openers for Venom, pulling in the biggest crowd they had seen and bringing ravers in from all over the UK. Liquid DnB had never been big on the menu at A.V. but Josh White played a textbook set with ravers lapping up the soulful and melodic styles that they’re best known for.
As part of the Dispatch Recordings Takeover, Gerra & Stone played on the last Audio Venom in 2013. With label-owner Ant TC1 waiting backstage these boys knew they had to make their mark, so in they came and hit the ravers hard with their arsenal of dark tech rollers, permanently etching their name into Audio Venom’s hall of fame.
Our closing act for 2013 was Dispatch Recordings’ owner Ant TC1. Ant pulled out an impeccable 2 hour set dropping tech rollers one after the other and constructing his mixes so clean you could eat your dinner off it. The Leeds-based DJ and producer had the ravers buzzing non-stop, a testament to all the new kids that experience is vital in this game.
The old skool Drum n Bass & Jungle legend Nicky Blackmarket took High Wycombe by storm. Audio Venom pulled all the stops out with the production and, coupled with Nicky’s outstanding hour of power, the night went off like never before.
Mampi Swift once again confirmed High Wycombe’s hunger for old skool legends. With the venue at maximum capacity and ravers hitting it hard, things were getting pretty hot behind the decks. The occasional blast of CO2 did help cool things a little but we take our hats off to Mampi who, despite the heat, was on-point with his mixing and threw together a champion’s set with just one hand…. while the other was mopping his brow.
Having just come from the 2015 Drum n Bass awards in Birmingham, Sub Zero & Unknown MC jumped straight into action. Using 3 decks and all the technical features Pioneer have to offer, Sub Zero punched in Jump-Up banger after banger, fast paced and packed with energy.
Low Down Deep Records boss, Logan D and award winning “Best Crowd Hype MC” Evil B made their heavy weight debut at Audio Venom shortly after winning the Drum n Bass Awards 2015. This well timed appearance had ravers hooked, what with Logan D dropping studio-fresh exclusives while the crowd chanted along to Evil B’s hype lyrics. Award winners?… we think so!
Stepping up after Logan D and Evil B on the Low Down Deep Recordings Special night, was the old skool legend Jumpin Jack Frost. Frost let his mixing do the talking punching in tunes so heavy he needs a crane to lift his record box.
